Come down to Club Sessions & enjoy some sets of social mixed doubles tennis and don't forget there are the famous homemade teas at 4pm on a Saturday !
S.E.T.S stands for Saturday Enhancement Tennis Session.
This will form part of the regular Club Session on Saturday afternoons, for the duration of British Summer Time and will be given over to a Service Line coach to facilitate.
The aim is simply to make these sessions nicely competitive, fully inclusive and, above all else, fun in a social environment.
The facilitator will be a professional coach with whom the Tennis Committee places its trust to act appropriately in the best interests of all participants. The facilitator has authority, in this context, to facilitate the sessions without interference.
The approach we ask you to follow is:
- Register the names of all members who participate each week to enable the Club to measure the expected improvement in attendance rates.
- There will be no cost to those attending.
- Members may play from 1pm-2pm and after 4pm as they wish but from 2pm to 4pm all required courts will be utilised for the facilitated session. This enables those who do not wish to participate to use other courts.
- Service Line will provide balls, organise the pairings and the duration of play throughout the session – this may or may not involve the grading of individual players.
- Service Line will provide coaching tips and techniques to all participants to help everyone improve their game.
- Any feedback on these sessions will be very welcome. Please provide this to your Social Tennis Representative (Hugo Hoare).
Note: Should anyone wish to organise private coaching this can be arranged with the coach at the time.
